ITINERARY :
 
Day  
1

Arrive Paro and transfer to hotel. Visit Paro market and the town. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

2 Paro sightseeing, visit Ta Dzong, built in 17th century as a watch tower for Paro Dzong but now a National Museum filled with antique thangkha paintings, textiles weapons and armour, Rinpung Dzong, built in 17th century to defend valley against Tibetan invaders which now serves an administrative centre and home of monastic community. Afternoon drive to Drukgyel Dzong, situated at the end of Paro valley and built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate his victory over Tibetan invaders. Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest monastery of the Kingdom is another place of interest. Overnight hotel in Paro.
3 Commence the trek from Drukgyel Dzong at 2580m passing through farm land, forests, valleys and arrive at Sharma Zampa for camping.
4 The trek follows Pa Chu (Paro River), ascending and descending through pine, oak and spruce forests. Further following up the river, arrive at the campsite ( 3750m. ).
5 The trail follows the river above the tree line and offers the spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. A short walk into the valley will take to the camp at Jangothang at an altitude of 4,040m. from where the view of Mount. Chomolhari and Jichu Drake is magnificent.

Gradually climbing up leads to the first ridge with spledind view of Chomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tsrim Khang and then crossing over Nyele la pass at an altitude of 4,700m. reaches at Lingshi ( 4000m. ) for camping.

The trek route climbs towards a small white chorten and then to Mo Chu Valley. Steep climbing takes to Yeli La ( 4820m. ) which offers the panoramic view of Chomolhari, Ganghhenta, Tserim Khang and Masang Gang. Arrive at Shodu (4,100m) for the camping.

The path follows Thimphu river, descending through rhododendron, juniper and other alpine forests with magnificent views of the cliff facing rocks and waterfalls.The trail gradually ascends to the ruins of Barshong Dzong, reaching the camp at the altitude of 3,600m.

The trail descends gently through a dense forest of rhododendron, birch and conifers, then drops steeply to Thimphu Chu and then to Dolam Kencho ( 3600m. ) for camping.

The trail goes in and out side valleys above Thimphu Chu, making a long ascent through a forest of conifers and high altitude broadleaf species to Dodena to drive to Thimphu. Overnight hotel in Thimphu.

Full day of sight seeing in Thimphu valley visiting Memorial Chorten, Tashichhodzong, National Library, Painting School, Traditional Medicine Institute, Handicrafts Emporium. Evening drive to Paro. Overnight hotel in Paro.

Drive to Paro airport for international departure.
