Cho Latse is situated in Khumbu region near the famous trekking trail of Everest base camp. It is one of the recently opened trekking peaks for climbing in Nepal Himalaya. It is connected to Tawoche by along ridge and its north and east face can be seen from Dughla on the trail to Everest base camp. It is a fluted snow peak with a summit plateau, hard in finding the summit. It is considered a technical peak and requires climbing on ice, snow and rocks. Cholatse was first climbed via the southwest ridge in 1982 and the steep North face was first climbed in 1984.
